Northern Nigeria is bleeding, In the last 24 hours alone:

🚩 ​Bandits invaded Digare, Bauchi,

🚩​Passengers ambushed/driver shot in Kogi,

🚩​An NYSC member tortured while pleading in the name of Allah,

🚩​Mass abductions near Govt Technical College, Kogi,

​Bauchi and Kogi have significant Muslim populations.

It is the Holy Month of Ramadan.

If you still think this is about "Islam" and not pure terrorism affecting us all, you aren't paying attention.

​Terrorists have no religion. They only have victims.

Explain why they’d do this now if they were "fighting for faith.

This is a press conference reportedly held by the Jos North local government chairman, Barr. John Kyoro Christopher, in response to the killing of travelers along Barikin Ladi axis in Plateau State.

The victims were traveling from Jos North to Pankshin for their shoe business. They were Muslim residents of Gangare, a community I was born and brought up in.

I am saving this video here because I believe this is highly commendable of the local government chairman.

I think this is the first time ever a statement of condolence, condemnation, and call for calm and arrest of the perpetrators of this evil is made from an office like this.

Plateau State cannot afford to continue like this. Our roads and communities must be safe for all. And only when the leaders are willing to address this menace can we have lasting peace. I hope this chairman will sustain our hope.

We'll continue to advocate for calm despite the pain of losing loved ones. We'll continue to appreciate and support any leader on the Plateau who genuinely work towards achieving this goal of lasting peace, inclusion, and economic progress.

Children are orphaned. Mothers are burying their sons.

Villages are burning.

Yet, the political class is already consumed with campaigns, alliances, and 2027 permutations.

What is the value of power if the people are not safe?

What is democracy without security?

What is leadership without responsibility?

Northern Nigeria cannot continue like this. We cannot normalize mass killings. We cannot normalize silence. We cannot normalize excuses.
Lives must matter more than elections.

History will remember who spoke up; and who stayed silent.
