A message from the “Other Side” :

The prevailing mood amongst the majority of Arabs today is visceral anger and despair rekindling feelings of injustice and humiliation that date back to the Iraq war and numerous past tragedies in the region;

this anger has cancelled any feelings of human compassion for the other side;

profound conviction that there’s no international law or institutions and that only naked force counts, and with some calls for acquiring nuclear weapons

a deep seated belief that the western world is completely biased and brazenly applies double standards;

the current war is part of Trump’s “Deal of the Century” to transfer Palestinians to Jordan and Sinai and liquidate the Palestinian question;

the war is fundamentally a religious war m, a belief confirmed by utterances of some US officials;

bitter resentment towards Arab regimes and elites who are seen to have been co-opted by the West, betraying the cause and largely responsible for the existing asymmetry of power.

This mindset of injustice, inequity and double standards if not urgently addressed will have worsening dire consequences regionally & globally

Civilians should never be canon fodder for any war at anytime under any circumstances and all parties without exception must strictly abide by International Humanitarian Law otherwise humanity would descend into the Stone Age

The measures declared by the Israeli defense minister amount to a war crime, a crime against humanity and genocide

The international community, the Arab states, the Security Council and the International Committee of the Red Cross should immediately take the necessary actions to stop these barbaric measures.

The International Criminal Court currently investigating the possibility of previous war crimes committed by the two parties in the occupied Palestinian Territories should also expedite the completion of its investigation.
