Most OSHA citations don't start with a dangerous machine — they start with missing documentation. Training records, JSA sign-offs, equipment logs. If it's not written down, it didn't happen in an audit. #OSHACompliance

We’re celebrating National Truck Driver Appreciation Week all week long!
FMCSA is proud to recognize the millions of professional truck drivers who spend their days and nights on the road, delivering the goods and resources our communities depend on and keeping America moving.
Help us keep the appreciation going! Tag a truck driver in the comments and thank them for the work they do every day. #NTDAW26
WHY BROKERS SHOULD WORRY THIS LABOR DAY
CargoNet's most recent five-year Labor Day analysis found that the Friday before the holiday was the highest-risk day for cargo theft.
Published in 2025, the CargoNet analysis examined reported theft activity from the Thursday before Labor Day through the following Wednesday for 2020 through 2024.
The findings should get every broker's attention:
🔴 214 cargo-theft or trucking-vehicle-theft events
🔴 Criminal activity more than doubled over the five-year period
🔴 45 thefts occurred on the Friday before Labor Day
🔴 A five-year high of 16 incidents occurred on that Friday in 2024 alone
🔴 California and Texas accounted for 85 of the 214 incidents
🔴 More than $10.5 million in documented losses
Holiday weekends create exactly the conditions freight criminals look for: urgent loads, reduced staffing, closed facilities, unattended equipment, and rushed decisions before people leave the office.
The threat is no longer limited to someone cutting a fence or stealing a parked trailer.
Organized criminals can acquire an established carrier with legitimate authority and a favorable history, then use that identity to book multiple high-value shipments before anyone realizes what's happening.
Watch for carriers shopping the same trucks to multiple brokers.
Be especially cautious when onboarding a carrier you have never used, even when everything appears clean at first glance.
Verify the carrier.
Verify the contact information.
Verify the driver.
Verify the truck, trailer, VIN and license plate.

#OnThisDay in 1906, President Roosevelt signed the Pure Food and Drug Act into law, using the federal government's control over interstate commerce to regulate the safety of products made for human consumption.
Investigative journalists, as well as government investigators, had exposed the filthy, dangerous conditions in the meatpacking industry, and the public demanded action. The act prohibited the sale and transport of products that were chemically adulterated in such a way that either masked inferior quality or spoilage, or that was otherwise injurious to health. It also required that products be properly labeled and branded as to the ingredients they contained.
