@Brady_H I love a hot running related take, but this one seems a bit suspect based on the data — and anecdotally most of my athletes in this range definitely also see a boost. Wouldn’t under rate the combo (weight, foam, energy return, mental / placebo).

OSU’s social media snub of Wayne Tinkle was no oversight.
The Beavers’ leadership could learn a lot about grace and class from the coach they just fired.

@brady_h 100% agree with one exception — pains me to see packs of amateurs doing multiple miles of warmup before the marathon…that’s one where you can easily “tire yourself out” pre race.
@ketamine_is@Golfndirtracin@JShumanTV I believe Robert meant that *not including the first quarter*, it was 36-30 in the remaining 3 quarters, and then mid 20s per team in the second half which he said was not that unusual for high school
@dystopiaville @sodium_warning @Twolfrecovery@LondonBreed@JoelEngardio As a Richmond resident who drives it frequently, but also enjoys running and biking along it, I’m torn on K. But I have to say that the experience of stopping and starting every 20 seconds for the lights means that I don’t really get to “enjoy” the drive at all…ymmv!
Definitely some truth here, but also be very wary of some survivorship bias in the post-marathon analysis…if some muscle groups are hurting, you almost certainly need to strengthen and activate the other groups to share the load!
Post Marathon soreness is a great indicator for what to focus my strength training on over the winter.
Every muscle that hurts needs to get stronger.
As simple as that.
@brady_h@mikesimonsen And of course I’m assuming you’re also judging your VO2 max score as one based on a watch company formula that is entirely untrustworthy 🤷🏻♂️
@plthomasEdD Curious as to where you think the “true” number might be? As a 12th grade history teacher, I am unfortunately seeing way less than 90% at or above what I would describe as high school reading and writing proficiency in our classrooms.
@zbzimmerman 22 is the sum of those draft picks - also the number of wins by the magic last year. 1 the difference between last year’s record and the magic in 2020-21. 7 is the second lowest pick of those players and the second highest the magic have finished in the last 10 years #numerology
Today's front page: It’s time to reframe the conversation about mental health at Stanford. This week's edition of @StanfordDaily is dedicated to campus wellness because it's become clear: something needs to change. I am so proud of this team and the work they have created.
@KFILE@WestLoopTom@saucony Actually probably precisely what you should expect — fast amateur runners can see outsized gains from “super” shoes like endorphin pros and possibly more if you tried Nike Alphafly or Adidas. Carbon return can improve your running economy dramatically once speed is < 7min pace
