With them is our original bagpiper, who didn't show one year. We replaced him with Jim Bair who ended up needing surgery one year. We replaced him with his good friend, Jim Parsons, who was our bagpiper until the end.
Cheers!

It's a sad moment to realize that last night would have been our 25th anniversary Robert Burns Supper and Robert Burns Scottish Export Ale Tapping.
Here's a rare pic from our OG celebration in 2000. Pictured are Mike Bodak and Scott Francis, our original brewer.

It's almost the weekend ! While we no longer, here's an alternative. Thunderwing Brewing is just two and a half miles from our location.
Thunderwing took over at the Sideswipe Brewing location and would love for you to visit. Tell Jason that Brewdood sent you.
Cheers!
Who remembers this lady? If you were a regular, you knew her and she knew you. Katie was a bartender for us for over two decades. With our closing, she's now a stay-at-home mom.
Cheers!
Pictured from left to right (first names only): unknown, Ivy, Laurel, unknown, Ty, Brewdood, Saint Joan, Matt (our GM), Kim. Sarah, and Mindy.
As you can see, craft beer wasn't a thing yet in other parts of town.

We take another trip down memory lane.
We say that we opened in 1997 but were established in 1998. We say that because our Barley's partner vacated on our first anniversary. We closed for three months to reorganize and reopened in October 1998.

Later, Barley's Smokehouse & Brewpub morphed into Smokehouse Brewing Company. We also had two logo changes over the years.
The image here is some of our crew from that reopening. The pic was taken at the Char Bar on High Street to celebrate our reopening.

Two days before we closed, Mike finally received the Bodak Firkin, 25 years after it was created. It now resides on their property in Pennsylvania.

Over the next few days we'll post some pics from our last few days.
Up first, does anyone remember our eXtreme Croquet Tournament in 1999? We laid out a course in the parking lot with urban-type obstacles. One of those obstacles was the Bodak Firkin.

Some of you may recall that Mike Bodak was one of our bartenders when his wife, Ivy, attended OSU Veterinary school. She also worked for us at that time.

Well that was fun. Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday to send us off. In the next few days we'll post some pics from yesterday.
We'll forget to mention someone, but a shout out to those who graced us with their presence yesterday:

Angelo Signorino, Curt Scheiber, Jim Ellison, Ralph Wolfe, Blake Compton, Jason Moore, John Fout, Tiffany Williams, Lowell Evans, Scott and Linda Pansing, Tom. Greg and countless of you great people who supported us through the years. We love you!

It's hard to believe the day is here. Today is our last day. Ever. Come in to help us say goodbye and to drain our beer, enjoy your last smoked wings and maybe a few sauerkraut balls.
We are open today from 11:00A-9:00P. Maybe a bit later if you demand it.
Cheers! ๐ปโ๏ธ๐ป
