#Plinko#kansspelautoriteit#gokken
I’m sick of people trying to gaslight everyone by telling them “we’ve always had fires in Alberta.” Of course, we’ve always had fires. But the last few years are off the charts. I grew up here. The average used to be 12 HOURS of smoke cover in a summer. Now it’s days and weeks.

Vandaag gaat @EvavanEsch in debat!
#Lutkemeerpolder
The UK police openly siding with the anti-democratic fossil fuel lobbyists of neoliberalism think tank @PolicyExchange . This is not a public serving institution. This is active complicity.
The sentences handed to the five @JustStop_Oil campaigners are utterly disproportionate. Four and five years in prison for peaceful protest? This is what you might expect in Russia or Egypt, not in a supposed democracy. https://t.co/jE3YUrd9EY
North Korea publicly executed 30 teenagers for watching a South Korean drama smuggled on a USB.
"It was over in a flash (Bang! Bang!). In the past, the punishment would have been one year of reformatory punishment (imprisonment), so I was shocked at the level of punishment."
North Korea also responded nervously to "plastic bottles of rice" that defector groups were sending out to sea by floating them. "Some residents were given hard labor punishment for picking up plastic bottles and cooking rice with them to eat."
In 2020, North Korea adopted the “Anti-reactionary Ideology and Culture Act,” banning the distribution, watching, or listening to South Korean cultural content. Violations can result in years of hard labor for small quantities and even death for larger amounts.
North Korea has increasingly relied on public executions under dictator Kim Jong-un to tighten control over the population. Experts attribute this rise in executions to the country's deteriorating economy, which necessitates stringent measures to maintain control. Historically, North Korea has used fear-inducing public executions to enforce compliance.
One notable incident occurred at the Hyesan Airfield near the Chinese border in Ryanggang Province, where a man was executed in front of local villagers for smuggling much needed medical supplies considered contraband. Many North Korean residents forced to witness these public executions have reportedly suffered from fainting, insomnia, and post-traumatic stress disorder. This alarming escalation in fear tactics and public executions raises significant international concerns about the ongoing human rights crisis in North Korea.
Special note
In 2024 North Korea entered an official military alliance with Russia and has been shipping military equipment, ammunition, and ballistic missiles to Russia for use against Ukraine. Russia may have received 1.6 million artillery shells from North Korea over the course of six months. The agreement between Kim and Putin declares that "In case any one of the two sides is put in a state of war by an armed invasion from an individual state or several states, the other side shall provide military and other assistance with all means in its possession without delay."

@Forza_U_@Politie Ja joh.
I was abducted and beaten by soldiers while reporting on wrongdoing by the Wagner Group in the Central African Republic. Russian paramilitaries in the country ordered the soldiers to torture me. I’m lucky to be alive to tell the story
