Oh happy day! Today 3 pre-teens were declared legally free for adoption in #Telangana. We wish the kids a great future, away from child shelters and into their new families soon. 😻

Time and time again our Case Workers tell us the same thing: Children want to be in families. Even older children, like the recent case of a 17 year old girl in Telengana who was abandoned in a shelter age just 3 days.

Today we introduce Sanjay, our field worker in Maharashtra. Sanjay grew up in a child shelter, and now works to help every abandoned and orphaned child get a family. Read his heartwarming blog post about his work with us.

It's not often that our team gets to witness the impact of our work. After helping bring an abandoned/orphaned child into the legal adoption pool, we start working on the next child's case. So this one was very special! #Family4EveryChild#OlderChildAdoption#IndiaAdoption
The child was abandoned 5 years ago but the child's process was not completed, the child stayed in a shelter for unnecessary 5 years.
Thanks to the current @WCDTelangana team for taking up this cause and supporting our work! @thenudge_csi

@Namratakilpady@netshrink@deepikaahuja5 Sorry for my very delayed reply. There are some things that don't make any sense at all and lack of adoption leave is one of them. Both my daughters needed months of adjustment time post adoption and so does every adoptive child. See this recent article: https://t.co/xC6LJv8GqU
(1) https://t.co/onPyG3gznN. An army of dedicated Anganwadi workers manage woman and child health in rural and vulnerable communities across India. Why not also train them to prevent child abandonment and infanticide by spreading #SafeSurrender awareness.
@maliniagarwal@Uber_India@Uber Yup. Also when Uber shows cabs are 6 mins away, I book the ride and get connected to a driver 22 mins away. Then Uber warns me I will get charged if I cancel the ride.
A friend's daughter turns 18 today. She was adopted as a young child, and on the eve of her becoming an official grown-up, I am sharing her article on the 4 things adoptive parents must know.

@Aliquisafrica @cooperunion 🙏 Thank you! It's a start -- let's hope vulnerable children can be made visible and an action plan for every child can be implemented.
@Dr_AkshayBaheti The challenge is kids not becoming legally available to adopt, which has to be done at each district level. Kids in shelters need to be evaluated constantly to check if they can become legally adoptable. Please see: https://t.co/tGXHHRX1ig
@meeramarthi completed two batches of training for 30 Social workers of the @WCDTelangana.The training was inaugurated by the Hon'ble commissioner, Smt. Divya Devarajan. She spoke eloquently inspiring the young social workers on the importance of their role and the training.
