@Barely_Sly I think that it was always less about the act of tracing and more of not admiting that someone traced and passing it off as genuine.

Difference now with AI is that the entire use of AI for art diminishes the process of art, whereas you learn art to an extent when tracing.

i.e Earth- type Earthquake would miss on Levitate but Earth-type Earth Power wouldn't.

Granted, you can still just mod skins to make them much more visible. But you can't make that effect on yourself unless other players have the mods you have.

@HymZaim Any big corpos, with the intention to cut costs boleh decide for an artist to do 85% asli, 15 % ai for example and company might underpay artists with justification that they didn't do 100%. For me, stuff like this enables that idea. Tapi bukan directly menyebabkan.

@nyonyadyana The main thing is that it becomes an enabler. Let's say this is 99% real, 1% AI. So again, not really that much of an issue. But big corps will then start scaling it back further. 90% real, 10% AI. They can then justify paying artists less because they didn't do all the work.

@oppaopah yup, it is cantik, but it had to be digitized to make the poster. and because of the batik layering issue, it does tell me someone has access to adding stuff to the original artwork afterwards.

However, whoever is in charge of transferring your father's watercolor art of the bear to digital form and editing this stuff onto it may have done a very sloppy job and sparked a lot of controversy.

I think it's hard to say it's AI without people coming after you for it. No, the bear itself is not digitally generated However, some of the details that were added digitally afterwards may have been. I'll try and explain the discrepancies that I can see.

All in all, at best this is just poor editing and at worst, AI generated features of the bear. To the son of the artist, apologies if what people say comes off to you as us saying your father is a bad or even fake artist. Your father is a very talented artist.

@emes_zack i think the real actual artwork for the bear is somewhere out there but this has to be at least ai-enhanced because of the inconsistencies.

the two bears are basically mirrored images, how is there inconsistencies.
