Labour says a further statement on VPN’s will be made in July, with restrictions now being discussed following the social media ban.

This should concern everyone, not just parents or teenagers.

Millions of ordinary people use VPNs to protect their privacy, secure their personal data, and browse the internet without being tracked. The idea that the government is now looking at restricting access to them is a step in the wrong direction.

History teaches us that free societies encourage people to think, question, and challenge those in power. Governments should never be afraid of an informed public.

As the saying goes: “When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.”

The King's Speech has laid the trap, the Digital Access to Services Bill. The government will look you in the eye and swear it's voluntary. They'll tell you there's no criminal offense for saying no. But they are quietly building a world where NO means you are effectively deleted from society.

It is a masterclass in vandalism by exclusion. They don't need to pass a law forcing you to carry a card when they can simply lock the doors to your own life.

• You're FREE to refuse, but your bank account is behind a facial recognition wall.

• You're FREE to opt-out, but you can't prove your right to work, travel, or see a doctor.

It's the arrogance of a prison guard telling you the cell door isn't locked while they've already removed the stairs. It's not a choice, it's a digital ultimatum.

And the hypocrisy? It's enough to make you sick. They want your face scanned and indexed to verify you can buy a loaf of bread, yet they'll defend the right to wear a niqab or face covering in public in the name of freedom. They can't even make their own surveillance state logically consistent without tripping over their own double standards.

This is Tony Blair's twenty-year wet dream finally being gift-wrapped as modernisation. They are betting you won't notice the difference between legal to refuse and impossible to live.

In 2025, 2.96 MILLION petitioned against it. Government pretended to listen. Made it optional. But the trap was always the same. Once banks integrate it, employers require it, schools demand it. Optional becomes mandatory in practice. You won't function without it.

Why? Larry Ellison paid the Tony Blair Institute £257 MILLION.

Oracle already holds £700M in government contracts across Treasury, Home Office, NHS. They're not building a service. They're owning your life.

In February, Blair and Ellison met in Dubai. Ellison called for unification of all government data for AI. Not to help you. To predict you. Control you. Monitor every transaction, every movement, every choice.

TBI released the report in September. Starmer moved days later. King made it official. Once Digital ID embeds in NHS and tax system, no government can remove it without economic collapse.

It becomes permanent. Survives every election. Every Prime Minister.
