@JohhanSantana Yes, but not only. PairDrop does provide additional features like "device pairing" so you can share files even if your devices are not in the same network.

Note that we don't host both websites ourselves, but relay on other great people in the open-source community.

You can switch between both server URLs via the settings of our app.

@ARY13055936 They need to be in the same WiFi network. Furthermore the WiFi Network needs to allow connections between devices which is not always the case in public networks.

@darmi_games Transfer uses P2P connection, that's right. Still the server is currently required for device recognition...

We apologize for the frequent down-times recently. Currently, all requests are routed through one and the same server, and it doesn't seem to handle such large user traffic properly. However, decentralizing this architecture is quite a complex task.
