@blackenedsheep0@EliMcCann My then 10 month old decided to take a giant poop as we were literally taking off....then the seatbelt sign was on for ages because we hit turbulence almost immediately. When I was finally able to get up, I did the fastest diaper change of my life.
@Jixylady@Prof_J_Lawton Also 🍁. Feb 2020 - I was in bed for 3 days with high fever and insane coughing, but no nasal symptoms at all. I was winded for weeks after. I briefly lost my sense of taste as well.
@Prof_J_Lawton@DSEDunn Same thing happened to me in February 2020. It only lasted a few days, but I could barely get the 10 feet from bedroom to bathroom without help. I was winded for weeks after (and I was a healthy, fit 30-something). I had a super high fever and uncontrollable coughing.
@simonsarris This is sort of what we did. If our daughter woke up angry from a nap and just wouldn't calm down, we'd put on a nature documentary of undersea scenes with fish. She watched the fish, calmed down, and then we went on with our day. It was a bit like watching an aquarium.
@crime_soup@TsarevnaOlga @ginnyhogan_ That's terrible. You deserved better and it must have been very scary not knowing what was happening. I was hospitalized at 29 weeks for a suspected minor abruption and luckily felt like they were caring for me as two patients - myself, and my baby.
@panda_gongjunim@_nomadic_soul Ouch! Doctors think I fractured my tailbone as a kid doing stupid kid stuff, and it caused me issues for years. I hope you don't suffer too many ill effects from it. Good that you managed to avoid a c-section; it was not my fav thing in the world.
@Olivia_Monster_@Carina_Amyth@ask_aubry 7.5 hours of pushing? You poor thing. I had 4 hours of pushing and thought that was hard. I can't imagine the exhaustion and then fear for your son.
@AmandaCyr2@Patricia_Ann_E Similar to my partner! We stopped at the pharmacy while on the way home from the hospital and ended up with a bunch of preemie diapers for our very average sized full term baby 😂
@gomichild@EliMcCann We did what we called "baby bidet" - carry her gingerly a couple of feet from the change table to the bathroom sink and do a complete rinse 😂 Our bathroom sink was never cleaned so often as it was during the newborn stage 😂😂
@aaronhoyland@clhubes No kidding. My (much beloved) dog decided to hang out near my 19 month old who was sick with a fever and trying to sleep...and then he barked at her and woke her up. 😬😬😬😬 I love him, but my dude, that's the last thing we needed at that moment.
@DebbieLemieux10 @Dr_BellaR Thanks. Luckily I have a great dentist and hygienist team now who are very gentle and understanding of my fear of all things dental. I'm convinced he just wanted more $$ from us - as if the $$$$ we spent on years of braces wasn't enough 🙄🙄🙄🙄
@DebbieLemieux10 @Dr_BellaR I'm sorry that happened to you. When I was a teen, my ortho told me that - and I quote - I'd "never be pretty" unless I got my jaw surgically realigned. I don't have any significant deformity; I just needed to have braces to straighten my teeth. 24 years later it still stings.
@lokastiti@adamfare1996 Exactly! I'm so thankful for my excellent medical team and very supportive family. That being said, it was still "hard" - trying to breastfeed was a nightmare (baby kicked my incision), I got a skin infection 3 months postpartum, and my incision took forever to heal.
@DrDiastole @DanWuori "pasta enfuego" has me in stitches 😂 We're raising our toddler bilingually, and it's a constant guessing game of whether she's trying to speak English, Spanish, or just some random assortment of noises.
@sherrowulf@DeathCab4Callie That's good to hear about toddlerhood! I keep saying that even though our daughter is super active, this stage seems less stressful and easier than the newborn phase. I'm actually enjoying this little person rather than catering to the whims of a sentient potato.
