@doconnoronca@Its_Mr_Floyd Exactly. And lapsing into public domain can be seen as part of contract with society for allowing limited exclusive compensation. When it enters the public domain it can inspire more works which can be created (and copyrighted). Endless extensions are starving the public domain.
@RM_Transit At least Finch and Eglinton can be fixed with policy and culture changes (altho P3's are garbage).
But hey, instead of giving rapid and reliable transit to large swaths of the city, let's go for a stubway instead. The rest of the city can wait 50 years, right?
@Canardiain@GOtransitKT I'll tell you right now, the PDFs are wrong. Those 2 weekend Kitchener trains are still scheduled even after Jan 3rd. Same time, same duration as before.
Those that complain about Line 6 are spoiled by the Premier building subways at great expense (and no thought to budgeting).
Even with Ford, Finch would never get a subway and I feel those that are complaining about the technology choice weren't even alive at the time!
@_ChanFace It hasn't even opened yet and you, like others, are treating it like its the 501.
Wait until the thing is running for a couple weeks before criticizing it.
I think Metrolinx didn't co-ordinate their weekend line closures with the TTC again.
With the Kitchener Line replacement buses dropping customers off at Highway 407 Station, getting to Union will require a transfer at St. George and transferring again at Bloor-Yonge.
Why is 90% of my feed now right wing crap? When I logged in 2 days ago I at least saw some progressive stuff. Now it's crime, anti-LGBT this, racism that. And these are Canadian posts/stories!
@TheWanderWit@JayBeeGooner Big is relative. Chengdu's population is 20 million.
Toronto's population is 4 million (or 9 if you include GTA). This is akin to comparing Barrie's bus network with K-W's. Sure it's a comparison, but its in bad faith.
@Ox_Ditto@marissenmark The dollar at parity actually puts us at a disadvantage. This is because our manufactured goods and services become more costly to buy/use. The film industry, for example, was struggling because it was cheaper for studios to stay in the US.
@Metrolinx@GOtransit , are there any plans to reinstall the water refill stations somewhere in the Kipling Bus Terminal? The old ones have been replaced by electrical outlets.
@TTChelps Might want to get someone to fix the signage at the Warden Stn subway entrance. There's a sign that says "subway" with an arrow pointing to the exit, not entrance. People not familiar with the setup have been using it as an entrance.
@GOtransit There are some issues with the PDFs of the new schedules for April:
- TABLE31 - Saturday PM eastbound is replaced with the Sat AM schedule; westbound schedule is cut off
- TABLE17 - Map does not show 17B path
- TABLE56 - April 5 schedule shows 52X (should be May 10th)
@TheRandCrews@RM_Transit It's almost like downtown is more dense than the outer sections. Who knew condos and popular storefronts would attract more riders than SFH!
Take a look at any downtown section of a bus route and you get the same stop spacing. The 94 and 26 are some nice examples.
@JayBeeGooner If he's complaining about stops, it means they must be used which is whats pissing him off.
I believe he's equating the streetcar network with an LRT system, which it absolutely is not. Instead, the streetcar network provides a local service, like a Bathurst or Ossington bus.
@norton_seven@RM_Transit That is the old Don Mills BRT (not LRT) proposal from the early 2000s, hence the weird DVP, Bayview and Parliament options. The LRT was never considered to go south of Danforth.
