Seems this is a popular post. I have refrained from telling too much about my personal experiences because on one hand I did meet many nice muslims during my time in these countries, however.. on the other hand I also experienced tons of hate. I think many muslims in western countries don't even experience the kind of hate I have had to endure at times. I was constantly sworn at with "fuck you Americani!" and had rocks thrown at me on multiple occassions, mostly by children. The irony being that I'm Dutch and my father actually helped the city and villages there have potable water, without him certain villages would have literally not had any chance of survival.
He did projects to install water filtration and water pump systems, very commendable work. Yet often money for these projects would disappear into the pockets of the government officials working on these projects. I remember very well that a fat wealthy looking local just shrugged and laughed when they asked where half the money for the project had gone. There was a layer of filthy rich people at the top, corruption like you would not believe and the rest of the country was living in absolute poverty.
I've added some photos from me with one of the sheiks from a village my dad did projects with. Unfortunately his daughter got raped about a month after the photos and he was never the same. What confused me at the time was that he was ashamed of her and felt she had disgraced his family.
I lived in northern Africa and the middle east as a child and teen. I can tell you that all the Muslim girls who went to the International schools I was in ditched the hijab the second they came through the gate because they were then in a safe space where no one would judge them for doing so or rat them out. These people were all filthy rich (children of ministers and even the president's children were at the school) and would take weekend trips to London and they wouldn't wear them there either. They're all afraid of their friends, family and general community.
It feels more like a sect that they can't escape than a religion of peace.
Don't even get me started on the corruption and the filthiness of the country. Small example: we had a minister's son in the school who was so rich he would total a new Landcruiser each year and killed a whole family once in the accident, they paid the relatives off with $1000 and he was never charged and got a new car from daddy the same month

One thing really stuck with me from this video was: the need to stay modest and humble. That’s why the 'no-lab-leak' crowd instantly got on my nerves. They had zero humility. They acted completely superior, treated everyone else like they were insane, and dismissed anyone questioning the narrative as a conspiracy theorist. Hopefully, they take a lesson in humility from this, but honestly, I doubt it. It's just not who they are.
I must have blocked almost 1000 people who were all behaving in this manner across multiple languages. It's fascinating how groups of these useful idiots popped up in every country. Someone could do a very interesting study on this behavior.

@Rob68524911@augusteprompt@DouglasCarswell I was just thinking the same. They're going to have to comply with the law unless they want to get banned. Though I don't know how you would even be able to stop someone from using Starlink

@zebassembly I have to do my very best to hit the limit and that includes weekends where I build Minecraft mods for the kids and use the cli version to setup my servers
I lived in Yemen for years and can confirm, every afternoon the shop keepers would disappear behind their counters and chew khat and if you tried to buy something they looked absolutely stoned af. My dad was there as a water specialist and tried to dissuade them from flooding their khat fields because the city of Sana'a was running out of water (they live on top of a mountain basically and pumped so far down they're reaching the limit).
We had a stand at a giant convention and were handing out free bags with our logo on it. In the hall next to ours there was a Home & Living Fair. There were Muslim women with shopping trolleys (these were not availible in the entire building, so they had taken from a super market in the area!) full of free stuff. Some had up to 3(!) trolleys per person and they were fighting over our free bag which wasn't even worth $5 because there were only a few left and there wasn't enough for all of them.
I can't stand the greed and the complete lack of respect.
@DagnySpeaks@MasterMaliq Most of them are afraid they won't belong to the group and will be shunned or even killed if they don't go along with it. They'll take it off every chance they get, as I've witnessed in international schools in the middle east where I grew up
