They are going about this the wrong way. Margins at a spaza are paper thin. Maybe the CGSO can direct this conversation to payment processors and how they can cater for this market. Penalising shops will just bring resistance and the township consumer will end up suffering AGAIN.
The Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman says that spaza shops are not allowed to apply a surcharge to customers for using bank cards to pay for purchases. CGSO Ombud Lee Soobrathi says businesses can be brought to task for such practices. Some residents in Soweto claim that spaza shops are charging excessive card transaction fees. @ZinikokaMhlaba has more.

International Relations and Cooperation Minister, Ronald Lamola, says the correct diplomatic processes were not followed regarding Ebrahim Rasool's expulsion. #DStv403
Christian actually makes a great point in DTS. Why is Toto pursuing outside drivers so strongly to lead Merc instead of George? The guy who beat Lewis Hamilton? Could it be because they were artificially propping up George to beat Lewis all season so they know the truth?
What I never understand about the efforts to "reclaim the city" is how they always start with vendors and traffic fines when just up the road, people are selling hard drugs, forcing others into prostitution, and committing real crimes without a fuss.
Shoprite launching Shoprite60 for townships makes sense. Checkers60βs success + township delivery demand paved the wayβthanks to township tech. Now, they get to dominate. Is it fair? Probably not but its business and it will drive for value for both their customers + shareholders
I am not sure if we need another social platform. What I do know is that X is toxic right now, Reddit is full of pervs, Insta acts as a trailer for OF and TikTok is the only platform that seems to be winning imo.
Digg co-founder Kevin Rose announced that he has teamed up with a former business rival to relaunch the site once called "the front page of the Internet".

In 1963 #PapwaSewgolum won the #NatalOpen - he was the first person of colour to do so.
He won it again in 1965, beating #GaryPlayer but Papwa was presented his trophy in the rain because people of colour were not allowed inside #TheDurbanCountryClub
I'm telling you this story as a reminder that we stand on the shoulders of those who sacrificed so much.
Do proud of you Dylan!
PS. Dylan accepted his trophy as an equal at #TheDurbanCountryClub
