Always been a teacher. Forced little brother to play school as kids. As a mom, taught my sons how to be people. Went professional in 2007 - journalism, English.
Hey, ya'll, it's been a while. I was just appreciating Romans 14 and thought I'd mention it to the twitterverse. #devotional#graceovergrind Less division and judgment, more love, respect and grace. Have a beautiful day.
Twitterverse, it's been too long. Just wanted to let you know that I quit my teaching/advising job in December. I opened an Herbalife nutrition club in February and am living a dream. I miss my publications students, but am loving my new purpose. #jerdchat
@danbharris, this arrived today, but I saved it for a treat after accomplishing tasks. You had me at the first page of the preface. #relatable Thank you.
@TheTechRabbi@alicekeeler That is what I continually teach students about presentations. All those wordy-words should come from your mouth. The slides should provide visuals to support, not written content for you to read from.
@Catlin_Tucker I've developed what I call 'sticky note' rubrics. It's the single point rubric as modeled here on a note, but instead of creating individually, I use it as a guide to assess, then write tweet-sized comment in online grade book. I stick em inside a folder for easy access.
Reminder: Every single person posting #WhyIDidntReport is reliving their trauma to try and teach folks to extend long overdue empathy and protection. The folks posting are only a drop in the bucket โ so many people aren't (and may never be) ready to relive that trauma.
@tylertalley22 Haha! Thank you @tylertalley22! I don't get out much. But if I'm in your neck o' the woods, I'll holler! Take care of you for me, wouldja? <3
@LaurieThurston1 I will be teaching CW this fall for the first time. Would love to get ideas for units, lessons, activities from you. Let me know if you'd like to connect.
@kswortzel_teach You just answered, briefly, several questions I put in a DM. Semi-desperate for finding someone to connect with, I put "creative writing" in the search bar and your tweet about Serpent King came up. #serendipity
@LesaHefner Truthfully, I was thinking more of the journalism classes. What you remind me of has been true of most students in the blogging class. Too entrenched in the "tell me what to" method to break free easily. Another variable is the device addiction we fight.
