@nebulousrk@migowa@ccatalyzt@ThomasT97520490 番手 represents the military order, this video is about people that are considered "the second" of characters. Although yes, I do understand the point that Oda did not use the usual 副船長 in this panel, seeing the cambridge definition of first mate, I thought it was relevant.
@ThomasT97520490@migowa@ccatalyzt He says "translation is wrong" and that it doesn't mean first mate. I show japanese people using the word refering to what we call first mates. I don't think it's really that crazy of a comparison. Like my point isn't even that they put zoro in the thumbnail...
@BigBoi785710729@migowa@ccatalyzt@ThomasT97520490 That's two japanese fans refering to the first mates as "2番手". Japanese people, natives, use that word to represent first mates, so I don't see where the translation issue lies ?
@migowa@ccatalyzt@ThomasT97520490 The "second hand" (direct translation) refers to the person just under the captain. So yeah the number doesn't match, but we also say "second in command". Also here is an exemple of the term being used to define other well know first mates/second in command.
@Aiznn9_3 Perso dans le manga rien à dire, mais l'anime certains combat ils ont abusé de fou sur les bruitages et ça me sors totalement de l'immersion.
@ultraspacemoot@audymori Basically just one character each time you do an action.
The character 剣 which represents blades in general for the knife.
The character 撃 which is used for the verb "to shoot (a gun)"
And the character 霊 for like soul/ghost
@EvilTwistedDJ@audymori I speak japanese (still learning tho), and I'd say the most probable meaning would be "tanashii ka" as to say "is it a soul ?" because the "ka" can be used as a question marker... Or it means "玉鹿" or "deer balls". I prefer second option ngl
