I don’t care about Zohran Mamdani’s identity or religion.
What matters to me is that he stands against crony capitalism and that he will fight climate change, improve public transport, education and healthcare. All that matters for a better world.
And he has showed that it possible to win elections on these issues without being funded by billionaires. That’s why his victory is truly an inspiration for people all across the planet.
We in civil administration may not have uniforms, BP vehicles, or vests—but that never stops us from being on the ground, ensuring evacuation & safety for those in need. Salute to Martyr Raj Kumar Thapa Sir, ADDC Rajouri, who laid down his life in the line of duty. Rest in peace

A Rajouri woman is currently in ‘news’ for alleged multiple marriages. I haven’t seen the level of irresponsible and disrespectful reporting as scaled up in this case.
Sadly, there is no media watchdog to take cognisance of this brazenness. It is not only absolute violation of the media ethics but also breach of social and civil norms. The poor woman does not appear to be capable enough to seek injunctions against intrusion into her privacy. Her life could well be at risk if this blatant character assassination does not stop.
The society at large should know this is no journalism. Those who are taking pleasure in this story are approving and normalising these new low standards of reporting which pose danger to any civilised society. If it all there is a public interest involved, if there is a scam, the reporters should investigate the story, take note of all evidences, speak to the law enforcement authorities and then go on air with some decency and civility.
I am also aware of the bitter fact anyone pointing out these reporters eventually himself becomes target of their wrath, but if they are feared like this then be sure no one is going to escape their crackdown.
