The truth is presidents have done more and worse. Just stating the historical facts.

FDR unleashed the IRS against publishers who disagreed with the New Deal.  So did JFK and LBJ. FDR also withheld licenses from radio companies that criticized his agenda.

Adams, Lincoln, and Wilson jailed journalists. Lincoln closed hundreds of newspapers.

Obama unleashed the FBI against the AP, the New York Times, and Fox’s James Rosen. And more.

And there’s more from presidential history. A lot worse than banning certain press from the White House.
