2024년 6월 서울대 당국은 인종학살·전범 국가 이스라엘을 미화하는 “이스라엘 교육연구센터”를 개소했습니다. 이 센터는 주한 이스라엘 대사관이 공식 참여하고 있으며, 기독교 시온주의 단체로부터 자금을 지원받고 있습니다.

이 센터는 이스라엘이 “다문화주의”와 “평화”를 추구한다는 가당찮은 주장을 늘어놓으며 한국이 이스라엘의 교육을 본받아야 한다고 주장합니다. 서울대학교의 명망을 이용해 거짓 프로파간다를 전파하고 이스라엘을 미화하는 이 센터는 즉각 폐쇄되어야 합니다! 🏛❌

💡 Joumana, a Palestinian student at the SNU Architecture Department, presents her graduation project!

The graduation exhibition of Joumana, co-founder of SNU Soobak—the first Palestinian solidarity club on a Korean university campus—is being held from July 9th to 14th.

Joumana’s project, “Al-Manara,” proposes a public library that serves as a beacon of knowledge and creativity.

Al-Manara, which means “Beacon of Light” in Arabic, is envisioned as more than just a library. It is designed to be a space that fosters knowledge and creativity while bringing the community together.

The project envisions a place of education and learning that empowers young people to lead the future. It also translates into architecture the intellectual legacy of the House of Wisdom during the Islamic Golden Age, as well as the Abrahamic tradition that “light is knowledge.”

One particularly compelling aspect of the project is its proposal to connect the city’s orthogonal street grid with the orientation of the Qiblah, the direction of Makkah. In doing so, it presents a new spatial order that respects the region’s history, culture, and community life.

We are so proud of Joumana for presenting a graduation project through in-depth research and creative work. We hope many people will take an interest in and support this meaningful achievement!

💡서울대 건축학과 학생 주마나(재한 팔레스타인인)의 졸업전시회 (ENG below ⬇️)

한국 최초의 팔레스타인 연대 동아리 ‘서울대 수박’의 공동 설립자 주마나의 졸업전시회가 7월 9일부터 14일까지 진행됩니다.

주마나의 프로젝트 ‘알 마나라(Al-Manara)’는 지식과 창의성을 밝히는 등대와 같은 역할을 하는 공공도서관을 제안합니다.

‘알 마나라’는 아랍어로 등대(Beacon of Light)를 뜻하며, 단순한 도서관을 넘어 지식과 창의성의 중심이자 공동체를 연결하는 공간을 지향합니다.

이 프로젝트는 청년들이 미래를 이끌어 갈 수 있도록 교육과 배움의 공간을 제안합니다. 또한 이슬람 황금기의 ‘지혜의 집(House of Wisdom)’이 남긴 지적 유산과, ‘빛은 곧 지식’이라는 아브라함계 전통의 의미를 건축으로 풀어냈습니다.

특히 도시의 격자형 도시계획과 메카를 향하는 키블라(Qiblah)의 방향성을 연결해, 지역의 역사와 문화, 공동체의 삶을 존중하는 새로운 공간 질서를 제안한 점이 인상적입니다.

깊이 있는 연구와 창작으로 졸업작품을 선보인 주마나가 자랑스럽습니다. 주마나의 뜻깊은 성취에 많은 관심과 응원을 부탁드립니다!

In June 2024, the SNU administration opened the “Israel Education Research Center”—a center that glorifies the genocidal and colonial entity ‘Israel’. The center involves the official participation of the Israeli Embassy and receives funding from a Christian Zionist organization.

This center makes claims that are completely at odds with the truth—namely, that Israel pursues “multiculturalism” and “peace”—and argues that South Korea should learn from Israel’s education system.

We cannot allow a center that exploits SNU’s prestige to spread false propaganda. This center must be shut down immediately! 🏛❌

휴전 후 이스라엘의 공격이 계속되고 있음에도 불구하고, 미국은 “휴전”이 여전히 유지되고 있다고 주장한다.
10월 10일 정오에 휴전이 발효된 이후 이스라엘은 현재까지 최소 1,059명의 팔레스타인인을 살해하고 3,429명을 부상시켰다.

이스라엘의 가자 집단학살 1천일. 최소73,066명의 팔레스타인인이 살해되었다. 21,500명 이상의 어린이가 살해되었다. 이 중 1,022명은 아기였다. 9,500명이 실종되었으며, 대다수는 잔해 더미 아래 묻혀 있다. 173,514명이 다쳤다. 약 22만3천톤의 폭발물이 투하되었다. 가자 지구 90%가 파괴되었다.
