Let's have a nuanced debate on student loans, the cost of college, personal responsibility, & structural inequality. But if you’re raging against “government bailouts,” you may want to do a little Googling. A long list of groups have demanded handouts. First up: Wall Street.
The burden of student loan debt is especially heavy for Black and Hispanic borrowers who on average have less family wealth to rely on to pay for college. And the pandemic only made things worse.
