My gosh.
Yesterday, Egypt Coach Hossam Hassan asked FIFA to use its "soft power" to help Palestinians.
Today, just as the Egypt-Argentina match began, Israel killed Mohammed al-Wahidi, of the Egyptian Relief Committee in Gaza — which also organized Gaza screenings of the matches.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, a prominent Palestinian doctor, has been detained for 18 months without charge or trial. Now, he’s reportedly in critical condition after being beaten by IDF soldiers.
We must put an end to the impunity and violations of U.S. and international law. We must defend our shared humanity. We must pass my Block the Bombs Act!
Please meet 9-year-old Mohammad Said Shabaan, a young soccer player and devoted fan who lost both legs and one arm in an Israeli airstrike.
Despite his injuries, he still plays soccer inside and outside his family’s tent in Jabalia. His dream is to receive prosthetic limbs and play with other children again.
These photos were taken just two days ago. I noticed he was wearing @BellinghamJude jersey.
Wasn’t that a good omen for England yesterday?
🚨We are deeply alarmed by the reports that there is an imminent threat to Dr. #HussamAbuSafiya’s life as a result of torture and other ill treatment he has been suffering while in Israeli custody. Israeli authorities must immediately and unconditionally release Dr. Abu Safiya. Pending his release, we call on the Israeli Prison service to ensure he is fully protected from abuse, granted urgent adequate medical care and allowed immediate visitation by independent monitors.

Israeli soldiers are reportedly torturing Dr Abu Safya --a pediatrician, for God's sake!
Without strong pressure on Israel, these may could be his last hours.

[W]e refuse to accept the silence of...the international medical community in the face of the detention, mistreatment, and reported torture of one of our colleagues. The protection of medical personnel is a foundational principle of medical ethics and international humanitarian law, and its defense cannot be selective.

More than 4,000 critically ill or injured children approved by the WHO for medical evacuation remain trapped under Israel’s siege of Gaza. One-year-old Nabih is one of them.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 264 children cleared for evacuation by the WHO, Israeli authorities (COGAT), and Palestinian authorities have died while waiting to leave Gaza for treatment.
The ministry says Israeli restrictions on patients approved for evacuation have contributed to more than 1,570 deaths since Oct. 7, including 505 cancer patients. It adds that another 6 to 10 patients die each day awaiting transfer. The crossing was again closed for extended periods this week, including all of Wednesday.
A doctor who saved lives in #Gaza is now fighting for his own.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya - detained without charges for over 500 days- is reportedly being tortured & at an imminent risk of death in Israeli detention.
Abu Safiya is among 14 Gaza doctors (pediatricians, surgeons & other specialists) who remain detained without charge, many for more than a year.
Their continued detention deprives patients of vital care & further undermines Gaza’s shattered healthcare system.
Their release is essential to saving lives + restoring Gaza’s shattered healthcare system.

ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan stated that Israel threatened his wife and children if he continued pursuing arrest warrants against its leaders accused of committing genocide.
In an interview with Al Arabiya English, Khan said that a 5,000-page report issued by the UN Office of Internal Oversight Services cleared him of any wrongdoing. He added that the ICC Bureau, the court’s main oversight body, appointed three judges to review the report, and they confirmed on 21 March 2026 that there was no evidence indicating any misconduct.
He also said that he had not fully understood the extent of influence held by governments and states he described as aligned with the US and Israel, noting that 12 US senators contacted him and threatened his family if he continued pursuing action against Israel.
🚨 BREAKING: Israel has killed 8 year old Palestinian child Malek Wael Abu Shawish in Gaza.
He is the second Palestinian child reported killed since this morning.
Rats are invading displacement camps across Gaza, where piles of garbage, overflowing sewage and overcrowded shelters are worsening a public health crisis. Doctors report more severe skin diseases as families struggle without proper sanitation or adequate medical care.
“You can clearly make out from these trends that children are very specific targets for the Israeli defence forces.”
CNN interview with the UN Commission Chair who led the inquiry that concluded Israel is deliberately targeting children in Gaza.
An 11yo boy carried his dead baby brother, Ahmed, to a hospital in Khan Younis in a backpack. Blood dripped from it as he walked in.
The UN commission says he is one witness to more than 20,000 Palestinian children killed & their deaths at the hands of Israel were not accidents.
