By high school I was so lost in space being undiagnosed/without supports. It was so fucked, by 10th grade I skipped classes until the vice president asked me to sign a form to formally drop out of HS.

Hated homework, still did well until mid/high school where I was told I "was smart enou 4 IB, but you're deaf, so nope. You're staying in the disabled classroom." (Almost literally.)

I have several years of experience and can see a subpopulation addicted to the street lifestyle & the criminal activities it comes with.
