@shannonrwatts@united I just flew home from Italy last week and used the app to upgrade my seats if available at no-cost something i've done 25x.
it now allows the app to also downgrade your seats. had to get on the phone to just put us back where we were.
today's 20-something was raised on instant YT and iPad dopamine hits.
quick. repetitive. repeat.
arguing creates that serotonin hit. over and over. incessantly.
most adults even 40 something's have the attention span of a mosquito nowadays.
Obviously, I’m no longer in the demographic that ESPN wants to appeal to… But can someone explain to me like I’m five the reasoning behind his popularity????
BREAKING: Due to Canadian wildfire smoke, Detroit, Chicago and Minneapolis now represent 3 of the 4 worst major cities for air quality on the entire planet.
We've reached a tipping point when it comes to vain introspection. I listened to a fitness podcast yesterday out of curiosity and the hosts were talking about going for a tempo run like they were invading Fallujah.
Therapy speak, emotional stories, internal monologues about wanting to quit, cancelling important plans to prioritize "recovery," references to childhood trauma, countless Goggins shoutouts.
My brother, you are 34 years old, and you're having to repeat mantras created by other men in order to get yourself out of bed in the morning to exercise?
I have never been so unable to relate to anything in my entire life. I've done some relatively hard things, not the hardest, but challenging for me, with plenty of opportunities to quit. At no point did it ever feel that deep. You just do the thing, or you don't, and then you go home and eat dinner and play with your kids. That's your recovery.
I can't figure out why every person in the fitness space now feels like they need to spend 3 hours talking about running or lifting for every 30 minutes they spend doing it.
Is it main character syndrome? Theater kids? Universal access to podcast equipment? I'm honestly wondering. Some of these guys could make a 12-part docuseries about walking to the end of the street and back and they would treat it like a religious experience.
I'm tempted to start a rival fitness/media brand built on the premise that it's not that deep. Our podcast will be nothing but knock knock jokes, fat shaming our friends, and mogging self-proclaimed, melodramatic fitfluencers by attempting to break their fitness records but while wearing jean shorts, smoking cigarettes, and/or pushing small children in strollers.
Applications are open.

@H_Grove This is such a bad take. As someone who lived there 25 years and somewhere else 21 Clevelanders are not a protected class. This is embarrassing.
Better mgmt and drafting would have resolved this. If Butch had drafted Ben instead of K2 the entire history would be different.
