We need a WOMAN who can turn the literary cacophony at @bookbuzzNG into an engaging content calendar. Someone who can dig into our archives, celebrate our past events, and make people hungry for what’s coming next.
Aunty, you have to love books, culture, African stories, deadlines and analytics. We are always thinking of the next thing, and the next thing after that. Work no dey finish, but we promise it is meaningful work.
For efficiency, we don’t mind you using AI. In fact, use it well. But we like women with personality, so we’ll be deeply disappointed if you erase yourself. You might as well erase yourself from the organisation too, innit?
We do a lot of our work on Canva, so you will be lost without it. You MUST know your way around Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
You’ll be working with a close-knit team of five. You must be able to work independently, and then work easily with others, especially around our festivals.
Basically, we are looking for a magician, but witches are welcome to apply if they can spot typos.
for the beginners/unpublished fiction writers, i am judging novel beginnings, a writing competition focused on the first 5,000 words of an unpublished novel, and the winner will receive $50,000.

I’ve always been partial to trickster stories. Maybe it’s because they’re often the underdogs — characters who, through mischief, wit, or downright audacity, hold up a mirror to power and expose uncomfortable truths.
