Yes, I watch baseball and listen to Springsteen and own a small business. I also love my trans child and vote for health care not police. It's not that hard.
@melnickjeffrey1 During the pandemic, after years of wearing clothes with no words on them, I returned to wearing band/music t-shirts because it was a way of generating human connection. Literally people shouting from their cars as I crossed the street "great shirt". I have not looked back.
@BigMeanInternet 2. I know we all hate boomers, but there is an equivalent big act touring the country on a specifically anti-Trump narrative. His name is Bruce Springsteen, I saw him in Pittsburgh the other day. And it was good. Flawed in predictable way, but still good.
@BigMeanInternet Two responses. 1. There is no equivalent big act because the kids dont care about their popular musicians in the same way anymore. Which, frankly is healthy (in a way I wasn't. )
@Rob_Shenanigans@nicholeaileen I'm a Pirates fan. There are no past playoff opponents so I need Milwaukee, St. Louis and Cincinnati as proxies. Not the Cubs, but I cant "hate" them either. I only get to hate the Yankees.
@DougHenwood Why are we arguing against the idea that the number of marxist university professors is growing? Whether or not it's true (and why wouldn't it be) seems like we'd be content to have these guys believe it.
@BigMeanInternet There is, however, some genuine ambiguity about whether (or how) Boots Riley is a "worker" or a "boss." I do not say that to cast shade - it applies to me as well.
@DougHenwood It's interesting. I was part of a group meeting with a key Progressive Caucus member on his way to endorsing Block the Bombs (HR 3565) and he accidentally used the word genocide. If any of us said publicly this happened he would flatly deny it. But he used it, yes he did!
@RyanDeto Lawrenceville's snow removal process is nonexistent, present tense, full stop. O'Connor spent the days leading up to the storm making memes about how he had in under control to contrast himself with his predecessor. He was lying, and deserves every bit of anger he gets for it.
@BigMeanInternet It's genuinely amazing how much credibility Brad Lander got from doing this, and yes, we have every right to expect it from every fucking one of them.
@mindyisser@melnickjeffrey1 In the US it is always a few days after a mass shooting. While occasionally the shooting targets Jews, at least as often it targets Blacks, Muslims, or random everyones. Knowing that it can target Jews sometimes sucks, but is simply par for the course.
