"We know racism is prevalent in social work, but we do not have enough data on the full extent of the issue, its impact on people, or actions being taken.”

When it comes to child contact our court system needs reform.
The negative impact on women in child contact court cases is worsened by the inconsistent treatment of domestic abuse between family courts and child protection agencies.
While child protection professionals urge women to leave abusive partners for the safety of their children, family courts often downplay the abuse in child contact cases.
Courts expect women to facilitate contact with abusive fathers, even when there are concerns about safety.
Women who oppose such contact or request supervision are often viewed as uncooperative or hostile, rather than as having valid concerns for their children's well-being.
