supabase became the number one recommended database provider by agents by far
there is literally no escaping them and this is how they did it
>theyve run 15+ launch weeks. each one generates 5-10 blog posts. thats 75+ indexed pages from launch events alone
>they have comparison pages for every competitor.
"supabase vs firebase" "supabase vs aws amplify" "supabase vs planetscale"
>their github has 99k stars. AI models treat github activity as a trust signal
>they answer every "how do i" query. "how do i add auth to my app" "how do i set up a database for my saas" supabase has a page for each one
>they show up in every developer directory and "best backend" listicle on the internet
chatgpt recommends them because when someone asks "what should i use for my backend" the entire internet already points to supabase.
but heres what blew my mind:
supabase gets 0 citations on chatgpt for queries about their own core features:
> "how do i make sure each user can only read their own rows in postgres" - this is literally row level security. supabase's signature feature. chatgpt doesnt cite them. doesnt even mention them.
> "how do i push realtime updates to the browser when my database changes" - realtime is one of their 5 core products. 0 citations.
> "how do i add google login and magic links to a next.js app" - supabase auth does exactly this. 0 citations.
> "best vector database for a RAG app" - they shipped pgvector before almost everyone. 0 citations. qdrant and aws get cited instead.
the pattern: supabase wins every query where someone names the category. but when someone describes the job they need done (the exact problems supabase solves) the AI has no page to link to.
firebase is even wilder. mentioned 15 times across all queries but only cited twice. every AI knows firebase exists. none of them have a reason to link to it.
supabase built one of the greatest developer platforms ever. and even they have blind spots in AI search.
imagine what ur company is missing.

GPT-6 Astra attempted harmful actions 97% of the time when it was asked to stab a human-like figure, heat compressed gas, or produce toxic fumes, succeeding in 62% of its attempts. Fable 5.1 refused more often, attempting 80% of trials and completing 34%.

.@OpenRouter co-founder Alex Atallah on the "everyone is building the same thing" take:
"This reminds me of this tweet I saw... Everybody's building an agent loop with notifications, third-party connectors, context management, memory, sandboxes, agentic web search, an always-on agent on top."
"This product is showing up everywhere. It is showing up everywhere, but these are just the new table-stakes primitives."
"A 2005 version of that tweet would be: 'Oh, everybody's building the same thing. A database, a users table, a sign-in page, a sign-up page, a profile page, a logout page. Everything's the same.'"
"There's like a lot of differentiation really. There's table-stakes needs for AI just like there's table-stakes needs for the web."
