Nigeria has about 60,000 secondary schools. Four years is 1,461 days.

Any candidate promising to visit all of them is promising 41 schools a day, no weekends, no governing. At half an hour a school he finishes in 2034. That is assuming his presidency has no other duties.

Serious Nigerians cannot afford to indulge candidates who have a broken relationship with numbers. Nobody around him said, ‘Oga, this one no go work.’ I don’t think they understand numbers and how things work in that group. Noise and noise only, sound bereft of even common sense.

Save for the Unity Schools, King’s College and Queen’s College and the rest of them, secondary schools are not the Federal Government’s business at all. So he is promising four years of doing something that is not his job, at a pace that is not possible, to prove a seriousness he does not have.

IJAWS AND THEIR QUEST FOR COASTAL SUPREMACY IN NIGERIA

The entire coastline of the Southwest from Lagos to Ondo state, is full of huge oil and gas deposits. I am happy that Ogun state is finally drilling its oil deposits in Eba island.

The coastal road will also increase the population of Yoruba people demographically along the coast and even lead to the creation of new cities.

The establishment of Dangote refinery in Lagos state and the siting of another big sea ports in Ogun state has changed how Yoruba elites see their coastline and therefore making Ijaw expansionist project impossible.

Ijaws have always dreamt of a homeland stretching from Lagos coast to the Akwa Ibom coast. The Ilajes have been the saving grace of the Yoruba people in the coast and the sacrifices of OPC in Lagos in the early 2000s, crushed this Nazi styled expansionism within Nigeria. Yoruba elites will use every resources in their hands to keep the oil and gas resources of the Southwest in the Southwest.

The Ibibios in Akwa Ibom are also hellbent in ensuring that Ijaw claims in Akwa Ibom is not only crushed but erased in this decade. The Ikweere people understand this better, which is why they are behind Wike to ensure their political power is untouched and that port harcourt is in their hands forever.

Benins also understand the threats in Gelegele. Without Gelegele, the Benins will become land locked forever. Therefore Ijaw expansionism in that axis will be met with a brutal and fierce resistance never seen before.

The Ijaws are looking for means to control the control the entire coast of Delta State but the Itsekiris occupy the coasts while Ijaws are in the creeks.

The gradual transformation of the Yoruba people as an oil and gas superpower in Nigeria is surely going to help our Itsekiri kins in Warri because the Yoruba elites now understand the threats posed by Ijaw nationalism to their personal and business interests and the Yoruba interest in Nigeria.

Like I have always said, may the OPC and Gwama boys who died between 1999 to 2003, rest in peace. They are the reason we have a coastline in the first place.

The Ijaws have not fought any major ethnic bloc in Nigeria for control of the coast except minorities in the South South, therefore the inevitable confrontation between the Ijaws and the Yoruba people in Ondo, Warri North and Ogun axis will probably be the beginning of the end of the militaristic Ijaw nationalism/expansionism. The Yoruba coastline is stupendously oil rich and Nigeria is about to find out.

The future is bright.
