@JBsTwoCents This one kid would come around to all his teachers with a bag of 10-15$ gift cards and big bags of gourmet candy and snacks. He’d tell us we could pick something from each bag. And when I say all the teachers, I mean ALL. The special area teachers and even me, the librarian!
Name five graphic novels for young people you absolutely love, and yeah, I know, limiting it to five is next to impossible:
-Pedro and Me
-Real Friends
-Flamer
-They Called Us Enemy
-The Prince and the Dressmaker

I love conferences when I get to meet folks IRL that I communicate with online, like the incomparable @abmack33 ! Thanks for all your great sessions! #AASL23#fangirl
@getnicced at AASL23: “Look at what is, come up with what ifs, make it what will be”. Most inspiring conference keynote. Feeling inspired to both fight on, and take better care of my mental health ❤️
@cameronjsamuels “As a student I just wanted to grow up in a school district that affirms me…
This was never about the books, the books were just the medium to come after us” This brought me to tears. @campaignfuture #AASL23
@4NIKKOLAS “Altruism isn’t about powers (how fast or strong you are), it’s about what you do with it. That’s what separates a superhero from a supervillain.” #AASL23
