Last day of class is bittersweet! I feel like I’ve learned so much through this class and my writing has grown significantly. Excited to continue to apply what I have learned in my future classes! #RHUB305
So far this professional development packet assignment has been going pretty well. It really has got me thinking deeply about my next steps for the future! #RHUB305
@NataliNava12 I can relate, I’m struggling a bit as well. I have rough ideas of what I might want to do, but nothing has jumped out at me! It’s hard to write about something you’re unsure about.
@hollowell_i Thank you for sharing this. Personal development begins at the very core of taking care of our mental and physical health. These little wins lead to great victories in the future! Best of luck to you! #RHUB305
#RHUB305 Over the last couple of weeks, I have been focusing a lot on my work & schooling. My job currently is currently tailored around my major and while it’s something I do enjoy.. I’ve come to the realization that it’s not exactly what I want to do as I grow within my field -
@ValGarcia282 I agree! When applying for my job a couple months ago, it had been awhile since I made an updated resume and I felt so lost. I kept thinking the same things as you. It’s important to chose words that get your point across effectively without being wordy & bland! #RHUB305
Following class, I am looking into applying to SDSU’s MS Child Development program. I’m not quite sure how I will be structuring that just yet, but I’m looking forward to doing some more research so I can get started! #RHUB305
As I look over content expected of our resumes, I feel as though what I have can use some fluff. I’m used to writing resumes and being told to condense my info into a single page, but seeing these samples reassures me that it’s okay to go into more detail. #RHUB305
@IvannaTuell Yes! As I was reading this, I already felt more informed on the topic of graduate school. Something I’ve always considered but lacked proper research. I’ll definitely be looking back at this resource in the future as well! #RHUB305
I feel motivated to do more research and prepare myself for the future. Grad school has always been a I wanted to look into but haven’t known where to start. #RHUB305
As I was reading Phil Agre’s advice on what to expect of grad school/ how to equip yourself for that journey, I found it extremely helpful. It gave me a better understanding on the topic because I personally don’t know much. -
As I read the article, I found it very helpful with all the useful links they offer to help with job search. I like how they give advice, reassuring the importance of using the immediate time to make investments in foundational career dev/ job search skills. #RHUB305
@hollowell_i Thank you, it definitely can be difficult but not impossible. It’s reassuring knowing I’m not the only one. Good luck to you and your writing process. 😊
#RHUB305 This writing process hasn’t been the easiest for me. Despite it being a topic I am pretty passionate about, I find that things going on around me whether it be related to school/personal life is making it hard to focus and execute a good paper.
@Elissa_A619 I think this is a very interesting topic! In my opinion, I feel that people often overlook the elderly’s emotional state simply because of the fact that they are old. They are still human and their mental health is just as important as younger people!
A sub claim I could potentially make is the absence of culturally diverse representation around the classroom, such as the toys they play with and the posters on the walls. All of this reinforcing bias’s. #RHUB305
#RHUB305 I believe this picture and more importantly the message it is addressing will help support me in writing my paper because simply stating “I don’t see color” as a way to prove you are ‘not racist’ is not okay -
@IvannaTuell These are some good questions! I have honestly not thought deeply about this topic before. I like how you make the point about doctors making commission from pharmaceutical companies being why they might refrain from prescribing medical marijuana. Very interesting!
