Vulture funds profit from struggling economies by buying their debt for pennies on the dollar, and then use various methods, including lawsuits, to force these nations to pay back the original amount + interests.

In this case, co-opted Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito helped Singer´s vulture fund get U$D 2.4 Billion from Argentina. This gives us a glimpse into the inner workings of the global financial system, which is designed to perpetrate colonial relations of exploitation and plundering of resources from Global South countries.
