@robokick @CorySchmitz Seoul could never... People are regularly paying 1 million dollars for apartments in hideous apartment blocks, not even recently built and not near the city center. The housing market here is so tragic I'm thinking of leaving the country just cuz of that

If you take a look at this Kakao Map street view photo of the alley where the accident happened, you can see it is barely wide enough for a car to drive through. Now imagine hundreds of people crammed shoulder to shoulder in there, attempting to push down the hill...

Can't count how many times I have walked up this exact alley. In fact I walked here at Halloween 2019 and 2021 and both times got caught in a crowd and couldn't move. It was seriously scary. This was a disaster waiting to happen and it's absolutely tragic.

There is essentially one main "party street" where people congregate, marked in yellow. This street is only about 330m end to end, and is relatively narrow. There are only a handful of alleys that connect to the main station area, all of them on a slope. (Accident alley is blue)
