my boyfriend: we could start dressing up as ICE agents and escorting people from their immigration hearings so it looks like they’ve already been detained but we just give them a ride home.
Good. Ted Lieu minces no words: “The fact that we even have to introduce an amendment that says ICE cannot deport US citizens is batshit crazy. This should not even be a discussion.”
UCLA just sent riot police to beat up students who were screening a movie about how schools like UCLA sent riot police to beat up students supporting Palestine, on the one-year anniversary of UCLA calling riot police to beat up students supporting Palestine.
In North America we have had ONE generation of women having full freedom and equal rights. We are now seeing a rise in angry men who are whining about being left behind, becoming more conservative, and talking about "the male loneliness epidemic". It's not a coincidence
Amazing. In *two* minutes, Pete Buttigieg got Andrew Shulz to see why government research is necessary.
That is why these conversations matter. A lot of the hosts & audience would never hear a message like this one. But when they do, it makes sense.
If you're an elected Democrat and you don't speak out about Trump's proposal to jail American citizens in a foreign torture dungeon for life, what are you even doing in public office? Why have the job?
If President Trump can wrongly deport a Maryland father to a prison in El Salvador and then defy a 9-0 Supreme Court order to facilitate bringing him home, who’s next?
This threatens the rights and freedoms of everyone in the United States.
He’s threatening media companies who are critical of him.
He’s talking about sending Americans to foreign prisons.
He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him.
Don’t you see what’s happening here?
So Trump is now on tape telling a foreign dictator he’s got to build more prison camps because he needs more space to put Americans there. Yeah alright waiting for the 2026 midterms no longer seems adequate.
8/ This is a watershed moment, as Trump thumbs his nose at a Supreme Court ruling, gaslighting the public by pretending his won 9-0 when he lost 9-0.
If we normalize this, there's no end. He can lock up or remove anyone. We will no longer exist in a democracy.
