Finally, I escaped. Not in Ritcey's Cove anymore eh. Thought I'd head to the Boston States to check out what's in the hahbah there, but wound up in a Twitter.
This is honestly hilarious in the bleakest possible way. Like, why would you send your gold reserves to democratic countries like Switzerland or Norway, with rule of law and actual banking credibility, when you can send them to Moscow, a place with the historical return policy of: “What gold?” 😂
Romania already tried this during World War I. They sent their national treasure to Russia for safekeeping. The Bolsheviks took power, confiscated it, returned some cultural items decades later, and the gold is still missing. The European Parliament was still asking Russia to return about 91.5 tonnes of Romanian gold in 2024.
Spain also sent hundreds of tonnes of gold to the Soviet Union during the Civil War. Moscow’s customer service reply was basically: “You spent it all on weapons, transport, mystery fees, exchange rates, and vibes. Receipt unavailable.”
So yes, brilliant idea. Send your national gold to Moscow.
That’s like asking a casino owner with three bankruptcies to hold your wallet while you go to the toilet.
Russia doesn’t “store” your gold.
Russia adopts it.
Zelensky might be referring to the radio relay system used for the Geran and Gerbera-Seeker OWA drones. Geran and Gerbera often use a mesh network with Chinese LTE modems, but the latency is insufficient for operating the seeker drones in FPV mode. Russia built a system to relay the signal in the occupied areas and along the border to provide a better signal for seekers, but the range is less than 200km. If Belarus allows such a system, it would enable the use of Geran-Seeker to be used around Kyiv and western Ukraine.
Russia is recruiting Africans for troll farms and influence ops targeting Europe. From fake accounts spreading division in the Netherlands to amplifying migration fears and anti-EU sentiment, Moscow is weaponising African labour for its hybrid war.
The Justice Department quietly deleted thousands of press releases about the Jan. 6 insurrection
So Lawfare restored them: more than 5,700 pages recovered and publicly archived.
@TylerMcBrien, Michael Feinberg, and Benjamin Wittes explain how. https://t.co/qtcxOnOmfa
Why ruzzkies hate @kajakallas?
- She is Estonian
- She is a woman
- She is not afraid to speak
- She has power
- She knows what kind of monsters russians really are
Be like Kaja, not like those russkie slaves.
SNYDER: Ukraine is not member of NATO, but Ukraine is doing all of the work of NATO right now only with its own armed forces.
Ukraine is basically fulfilling the entire mission of NATO, with help of course, but not with anybody else's soldiers.
We've essentially gotten used to the idea, all the countries in the region have now gotten used to Ukraine defending them.
And if Ukraine loses the war, then Russian aggression towards not just Baltic states but Poland and Romania becomes quite possible.
And if we take that for granted, if we let Ukraine down, if Ukraine were actually to lose this war, then Russia would digest important economic gains, territorial gains, technological gains, and sadly also demographic gains, which would make it qualitatively greater threat to Romania.
And Russian victory in Ukraine would also be, if not a death blow, then certainly a very heavy blow to NATO itself, leaving Romania much more likely to be isolated when it's facing Russia, which, I don't have to tell you, has historically not been a great situation for Romania.
ICE spent over $1 billion buying 11 warehouses to cage human beings. Now it’s quietly trying to sell or give away seven of them, more than $700 million gone, with not a single facility open and an inspector general investigation hanging over the whole mess.
This is the waste they swore they were elected to root out.
The fraud, the abuse, the blank check spent without a plan.
They bought industrial buildings at up to $145 million apiece, before renovations, with no environmental review, no community buy-in, and no real strategy for what came next. Even Republican officials told them to stop. Taxpayers are left holding the bill for warehouses that detained no one and accomplished nothing but fear.
It’s total hypocrisy.
An administration that lectured the country about efficiency lit $700 million on fire as part of Stephen Miller’s cruel fantasy of mass detention. Imagine what that money could have done for veterans waiting on housing, for families crushed by costs, for the working people they claim to serve.
I’m glad this plan is dying. It was inhumane from the first day, designed to warehouse people far from the rule of law and basic decency. But being glad it failed does not erase how it failed, recklessly and expensively. We must have full accountability for the officials who pushed it.

Applebaum: Trump is not pro-Russian, he's pro-Putin. He admires leaders with no checks and balances, who aren't part of a democratic system, who control media.
Same kind of admiration he has for North Korea's leader and Xi Jinping. It's about the strongman ideal. 1/
Russia is on the back foot: militarily, economically and politically.
Now is the time to provide Ukraine with even greater support and to exert even more pressure on Russia to end the war.
This was the focus of my discussion with Minister @FedorovMykhailo.
The sky over Moscow is black from the smoke of burning oil. Oil rain may fall on the Kremlin itself.
In Putin's most important city, his weakness and the ruin he has led Russia to is now clear for all to see.
No amount of propaganda can hide the scale of his failures now.🔥
Ireland’s Aughinish Alumina refinery knowingly continues to export alumina to Russia.
This aluminum is used in missiles, drones, and military aircraft.

1. Something is freaky fishy there. So let me get that straight. An article appears @WIRED about an alleged list on Peter Thiel‘s secret circle website called „society“. The co author is a 🇷🇺 and that’s the only article she wrote for @WIRED. That isn’t all.
The DNI rescinded AHI/Havana Syndrome assessments. The threat is real and Russia has targeted the top performing intelligence officers to ensure they won’t make it to the top, endanger our national security, and prepare for Ukraine. There needs to be accountability & a reckoning.
⚡ Hungarian PM Peter Magyar ordered an immediate internal probe into the March detention of Ukrainian Oschadbank cash collectors and seizure of their assets under the former Orbán administration.
"The Prosecutor General must address the matter without delay," Magyar announced.
Es gibt vielleicht erstmals eine Chance auf Frieden: Russland kann diesen Krieg militärisch nicht gewinnen. Wir verstärken unsere Unterstützung für die Ukraine und erhöhen den Druck auf Moskau. @G7
