โWhy argue with an Arsenal fan when you can just wait?โ We waited. We won. We are champions of England - and we are just one game away from being crowned champions of Europe. Read my piece on what Arsenal means to me here: https://t.co/J6cg388mRH
A lot of attention is paid to craft traditions in Western Europe and North America, such as handsewn Hermes leather goods and bespoke Savile Row suits. But the uneven focus leads some to believe that things made outside of these places are low quality.
This is not true. ๐งต
PUBLIC ALERT โผ๏ธ
Theft situation around Jinja Road traffic lights mainly is getting out of hand and somehow itโs starting to look normal
The moment the lights turn red and cars stop, groups of like 3 thugs move between vehicles targeting side mirrors and car grille in traffic jam.
This mostly happens around 4am-7am and again 5pm-8pm almost every single day.
Iโve personally been a victim of this twice while heading home. Iโve also witnessed a Range Rover driver get his grille pulled off in traffic jam in the evening. Right there in front of everyone. Multiple times too.
If youโre lucky, they only take the mirror glass. Worst case, they remove the whole side mirror, mostly on the co-driver side.
Cars mostly targeted are Subaru Imprezas, Range Rover grilles, Mercedes Benz mirrors with lane assist, Harrier Kawundos grilles and more.
Please be cautious. Engrave or label your mirrors with your plate number, and Libiti em
Keep your windows up, and central lock your car while in traffic.
Security authorities we need your help this is getting ridiculous. Please tag em.
i'll never understand how we jumped to qr codes on digital-first flyers and posters
uganda is a mobile-first market, and most people consume content on a single device
so how exactly are people supposed to scan a qr code on the same phone they're usin' to view the flyer?
qr codes should be treated as secondary convenience, not the primary call-to-action
always include a clickable link in the body or caption instead
qr codes make more sense on printed posters, roll-up banners, backdrops, business cards, tv presentations, etc
where i can actually use my device to scan the code
I used to walk home from DJ gigs in Mukono after midnight, my Pioneer DDJ SB1 on my back.
One night a patrol pulled up and put the lights on me. They said the long bag looked suspicious. They opened it and searched. The deck, the headphones, the cables, and the small pocket knife I always carried, just in case.
For a second I thought it was about to go wrong.
The senior officer looked at me, then at the deck. He told me to be careful. Then he told me to get in. They drove me home that night.
Years later when people ask how I started, I usually skip this part. Today felt right to say it.
