this needs more attention
A simple blend of glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline is showing a shockingly broad rejuvenation effect.
Humans see visible skin improvements in weeks and an average 1.4 year drop in biological age within 6 months, with extreme responders reversing nearly a decade. 🤯
more details
When human skin fibroblasts received the 3 Gly:1 Pro:1 Hyp mix, genes related to collagen and the extracellular matrix (ECM) were strongly upregulated within hours.
This suggests the mixture stimulates processes involved in tissue structure and maintenance.
In a small human observational trial:
A group of healthy adults took an oral supplement based on this amino acid mix for 6 months.
Outcomes: improved skin appearance (visible results within ~3 months) and, according to epigenetic / biological age measures, an average 1.4 year reduction in biological age after 6 months.
Just one intervention delivers measurable, cross species rejuvenation signals, hinting at a surprisingly powerful, scalable anti aging pathway.
aging reversal is nearer
@foundmyfitness Would be interesting to see this study repeated with just Glycine supplementation. Curious how much heavy lifting that particular amino is doing here.
Supplementing the three primary collagen amino acids glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline in a 3:1:1 ratio produces consistent, measurable benefits across worms, mice, and humans.
In humans, skin outcomes (wrinkles, texture, elasticity, and hydration) improved 4–6% within 1–3 months.
The most striking result was a reduction in biological age by an average of 1.4 years after 6 months, with maximum reductions of 8.9 years in men and 12.1 years in women. Those with a biological age higher than their chronological age saw the largest improvements.
In C. elegans, the 3:1:1 mix increased lifespan 6–27% (greater than whole collagen). In old mice, it preserved grip strength and reduced white adipose tissue.
Glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline form the backbone of collagen and play roles in protein synthesis, one-carbon metabolism, and likely signaling pathways that influence tissue maintenance and repair.
These animal and human data together provide a compelling translational story.
@foundmyfitness Thank you so much for sharing @foundmyfitness ! I’m one of the co-authors of the study and co-founder at @AveaLife, where I formulated our Collagen Activator and collaborated with @CollinEwald and ETH Zurich on this project. It means a lot to see this work reaching more people.
@ValerianLEV @foundmyfitness Hello! Sophie here, Co-author of the study and formulated the Collagen Activator from @AveaLife (I’m the cofounder). We actually did test the single amino acids in c. elegans and human fibroblasts, as well as different ratios of gly-pro-hyd, but none worked as well as the 3-1-1
