Don't know but for yogurt to be yogurt in the US, it must meet the FDA's definition. Homemade yogurt that I make, is better than anything store bought but it also could never be sold as "yogurt."

According to the FDA, yogurt is produced by culturing one or more basic dairy ingredients—such as cream, milk, partially skimmed milk, or skim milk—with a characterizing bacterial culture containing Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus (21 CFR 131.200).

I don't know how your Smudge is doing as your post is from two years ago. My Lily had a saddle thrombus back in December where she was paralyzed in hind legs and vet was recommending euthanasia. I discovered a protocol developed by a UK-based vet that hydrolyzes fibrin in blood clots. Within a few days, Lily was walking again. She celebrated her 19th birthday in May.

If you want info on this, let me know. It is not something most vets know about but it's an amazing OTC enzyme.
