Hidden on page 744 of the farm bill the House Agriculture Committee passed Thursday is a provision that would condemn millions of pigs to a lifetime in gestation crates.

Rebranded the 'Save Our Bacon Act,' it's a pork-industry play to wipe out every state law banning the sale of pork from crated pigs — laws the conservative Supreme Court upheld in 2023.

Over 85% of Democrats and Republicans oppose these crates. Voters have backed ballot measures to ban them in state after state.

The pork industry knows it can't win a straight vote on this. So it's burying the provision in an 800-page bill and hoping no one notices.

I don’t want AI to help me write my comments on LinkedIn. I don’t even want to be on LinkedIn in the first place.

I just want to pay for a product one time (and only one time), know that it’s going to work flawlessly, press 0 to speak to an operator if I need help, and otherwise be left alone and treated with some small measure of human dignity, if that’s not too much to ask anymore.

This isn’t just about Rollins. It’s part of a bigger pork industry plan to force all states to legalize crates.

Their plan is to do this through the giant Farm Bill, where no one will notice. Their leaders are Senators Boozman, Ernst, and Marshall.

They must be stopped.

@emzanotti We have kids/chickens/chicks and were looking for similar things as you. Went for farm friendly breeds at our local rescue places- cattle dog mix/lab-shepherd mix- and took them as puppies. It worked out!
