Very disturbing reports coming in from @SouthAsianUni of alleged gang rape attempt on a 1st year BTech student from Bihar on Sunday night at a construction site by men including a security guard and a mess worker who supposedly has fled . Uni is under MEA control. When she went to the warden and hostel care taker apparently the reactions went from victim blaming to asking her to shove the matter under the carpet. The admin did not even find it fit to report the matter to the police. @DelhiPolice PCR was called in on Monday post 3pm only after students protested. Now media being barred from speaking to students on campus who are continuing with their protests. Too many shoddy details emerging including the young girl being threatened against lodging a case. The university is directly controlled by the Ministry of External Affairs. Need intervention and clarity from EAM @DrSJaishankar and MEA as to what exactly is happening please? The VC and Proctor seem to be forming a new committee headed by a male member to look into the matter. And most faculty members are being kept in the dark. Is the young girl in a safe location to begin with? @MEAIndia

Sanjay Chaturvedi, the Vice President of SAU, has a history of being extremely manipulative. When he said "we are standing as parents here" he meant parents of the culprits. This is what they do in SAU, they safeguard the assailants and put victims on the burner.

SAU has limited number of students, and even more limited number of guards and staffs. But they have 1000s of cameras on every nook and corner of the campus. It’s a CLOSED campus. If they wanted to, they’d have caught the culprits within 24 hours.
