@DaveGorman I think he'd know better than anyone - given that Shaun Ryder had to go and buy the Happy Mondays albums again when they reformed so he could re-learn the lyrics…
@DaveGorman OK - sixteen years on and I've finally found a definitive answer; its "tea time", according to Kermit's Facebook post (from 2016.)

@DaveGorman Just listened to the Black Grape album for the first time in years. Fun fact - this tweet is now the top Google result for a search for "Chi chine".
(Still nothing out there that sheds any light on what might have been going through Mr. Ryder's mind at the time though...)
The worst thing is how often they turn out to be right. (Which I guess is a bit like the Theuth & Thamus myth - complaining that literacy will make people stupid because they won't need to know anything if they can just read it in a book...)
@benedictevans Podcasts are inherently a broadcast medium - everyone hears the same podcast/adverts. But ‘the industry’ desperately wants it to a a precision targeted, addressable medium (because “digital”), missing exactly what it is that makes the advertising/sponsorship work so well.
After 250 years confidently atop the great pyramid of being, we in the West are becoming more aware that we might, perhaps, have company.
I spoke to @jamesbridle and @raynayler about their new books on other minds, from AIs to octopuses alike: https://t.co/ZiO8ufv6WO
@davetrott "Computers can do better than ever what needn’t be done at all. Making sense is still a human monopoly." - Marshall McLuhan, from "Take Today : The Executive as Dropout" (1972)
@mediaczar No data ever gets as much scrutiny as the data that didn’t align with your expectations, or the expectations you already set with the client.
In 1977, media prophet Marshall McLuhan discussed CIA and FBI surveillance, and then turned it into one of the most mind-bending riffs on identity in the digital age I've ever heard.
Are you trying to wean yourself off Big Tech? You can read my work elsewhere, but it is now a #TwitterCrime to tell you how. Please visit my site, https://t.co/iSBh8sqXw0, for links to find me on less-unhinged places (I can only imagine that my days here are numbered). 13/
@benedictevans How many rifles/shotguns is “enough” for a private stash for someone to keep at their offfice in a hospital? How many handguns is “a lot of handguns”? From a British perspective maybe 5? 6?
“11 handguns of various calibers, 27 rifles/shotguns, and […] an illegal assault rifle.”
@benedictevans Advertising and clicks. (Boring, but true- algorithmically-generated creative has been around for a while, but based on manually defined input terms/structures)
After a long time of trying to come up with a simple answer to the simple question of “what is television?”, I decided to go the long way around. https://t.co/JgScZzB7Ku
