Golden age final fantasy games are all pretty easy, and that’s ok!
They were accessible and are fondly remembered today because of their great stories and characters, with strong pacing.
I’m not sure the games would have been served well by having really crunchy gameplay.
@MildraTheMonk Do people really think the games were hard? I regularly see them criticized as being way too easy. I saw a tweet that was like “was ffvi a game made for babies?”

@brockscrocs Tbf I think some folks think a game is flawed when it’s easy because you’re not incentivized to use every option. But honestly what that tends to look like is a check list of things you have to do in battle to create stagger and do any meaningful damage
@CriticalGamesAU Ha Tbf I think FFVI has the most obvious strongest built in gameplay/story mechanic (magic). Playing many four job fiestas made me appreciate just how clever FFV is.
@Crossy_C98 Ya, it’s ok if you struggled as a kid. Somehow despite it all, we all managed to beat the games. I remember my little sister beating FF9 and my little bro beating FF7. They really were games for everyone
@CriticalGamesAU FFV is great because bosses are constantly throwing problems at you, but you are given many options to creatively problem solve
On flip side, games like BD2 design the solution, but give you many options which are all hard countered. So stupid
Chrono Trigger famously was very hard in the beta phase, but then got lots of balance passes to make it more accessible. I believe Sakaguchi had his hands in tnat one
It’s cool if you disagree. And I know lots of mods exist. I hear they are quite fun. But when I hear people say “it fixed this game.” I kinda roll my eyes a bit. Feels like a misunderstanding of what they were trying to accomplish with the games
Welcome to Canadia, where Dragon-sized Geese rule the skies. In this turn-based #CRPG, gather your party of Beavers, Gooseborn and Moose, master the magic of colour, and paint a corrupted world back to life.

@JediMasterAdamS The great thing is that it will include all the updates we've brought to PC/Switch, so it'll launch with all the extra free content :)
Just a quick update to let you all know that the Playstation Port of Quartet is still in progress. We are finishing up trophies and save/load. Then just gotta do some testing. Hoping for it to be smooth and quick, but we have no date atm!
@NomDGames@AGregtothePast Yea, they will all be story chapter completions, get to x level, or beat extra dungeon/boss. Pretty straight forward. No collectibles or stuff that you can miss
@NomDGames@AGregtothePast I don't think so? It'll be all the same achievements on Steam version, plus 3 new ones for some of the new end game content we added in free updates.
