Methods: 2 experimental groups, 1 control group; 18 petri dishes, 6 replicates per group. All plates had agar and S. marsescens, and contained filter paper discs with streptomycin, ampicillin, or water. Zones of inhibition were measured; Shapiro-Wilk & T-test conducted. [2/3]
The results of this study showed that this lipid oligonucleotide strategy has strong antimicrobial potential! Self-delivery of oligonucleotide sequences via lipid conjugation could be used in #antimicrobialdrugs, which can open doors in the fight against antibiotic resistance.

Researchers measured B-lactamase activity, which had been targeted by the LONs in both clinical and laboratory strains. The LONs delivered the oligonucleotide sequences in the prokaryotic cells, decreasing the concentration of #resistantbacteria to a third generation.
It was found that climactic factors such as water temperature and solar radiation contributed the most to algal bloom, followed by hydrodynamic factors, #nutrients, and external loadings. These results show that several regulation strategies would be required to control growth.
