Who is "SonOfWoolley"
I am an independent Mormon Fundamentalist. I do not directly associate with any Fundamentalist group, but believe a few are valid but theres no single valid group.
I am a young adult male, who keeps his identity secret for safety (1)
The Gospel is the Good News of Jesus Christ: that He died for our sins, was buried, and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). The Book of Mormon explicitly proclaims these very things (2 Nephi 25:13; Mosiah 3:5–11; 3 Nephi 11:10–15).
You’re demonstrating that Latter-day Saints and Catholics have substantially different understandings of heaven, exaltation, and the afterlife. I don’t dispute that.
But you’re still not establishing that they proclaim a different Gospel.
@JiPSinTN@moroni7_3 I would not consider those the same. There are many times in Scriptures, Gods people took their arms up in self defense.
Jesus was going voluntarily, to provide us the atonement.
Joseph was a man who was arrested and being lynched.
They are not the same at all. (1/2)
@Salt_n_Smoke The argument only makes sense if you were Sola scriptura. Sure, there is nothing recorded accounting the laying on of hands by Jesus in the Bible, but due to the practices history within Judaism and by the Apostles in what we do have, I think it can be a fair assumption.
@ElJefe53209440 The main difference is you hold a Trinitarian belief. Jesus and the Father are one. We do not hold to that; they share the title of God, but are two distinct.
If you disagree, thats fine. This is what ive come to believe and conclude is true.
@ElJefe53209440 Jesus is the only begotten.
We are ALL spirit children of a Heavenly Father. Lucifer disowned himself from our family in rebellion. We believe Jesus is Jehovah, God over the Old Testament, and created the world at the Fathers direction. (1/2)
@Apologetics941 You are saved through the atonement, and grace, and follow what God has commanded.
You accept His atonement, and you refrain from sinning as you make your covenants.
If you say you follow in Christ, but are a fornicating drunkard, you dont truly follow Christ.
@Ducdenghien@moroni7_3 Members who deny infinite regression are those newly termed "neo-Mormons".
Infinite regression is doctrine. I will not deny that. I'm honestly with you on this.
@jkdavis89@ThoughtfulSaint@Lets_Talk_HC These apologists are doing what they can to make Mormonism more appealing to other Christians, and are changing the beliefs or twisting them to be more Evangelical.
They are neo-Mormon. They are wolves in sheep's clothing.
@Grownded You can be a pseudo-fundamentalist without being fundamentalist. As of current a denial of key doctrine taught, like Eternal Regression and Adam-God for example, is widespread in the mainline.
Also, FLDS is just a sect within the fundamentalist tradition.
@daxiel1992 It doesnt even matter if everyone is/isn't doing it. Firstly thats a given, read the Scriptures and its done, and secondly if you dont people WILL eventually forget it.
Thats happened with doctrine as is.
@daxiel1992 I'm a fundamentalist. Inherently, I disagree with and have issues with how simplified the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has become.
However, with the volume of talks its good to get the basics reiterated, and a few talks that cover harder topics. You need a mix.
