Farage says he refused, telling Konstantin: “He wanted me to come out publicly and support Tommy Robinson, and I said I can’t do that. He wanted me to come out and talk about deportations of illegals before we had a plan.”

Framing it as proof no one can “buy” him (in response to questions about other donors), Farage positioned it as standing up to Musk’s demands and not being “bullied”.

What an absolute honour and privilege it was to spend last night out canvassing and knocking on doors in Clacton alongside not only our formidable and hardworking MP, @SarahForRuncorn , but also the Leader of @reformparty_uk , @Nigel_Farage .

It was a real pleasure to meet so many wonderful members, supporters and residents throughout the evening, especially the lovely Kerryann, whose warmth and kindness summed up the spirit of the night perfectly.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support us and to all the volunteers who give up their time so generously. Political movements are built by ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and last night was a fantastic example of that.

Being able to canvass alongside Sarah and Nigel was undoubtedly one of the highlights of my political journey so far. To say Nigel was greeted like a rock star wherever he went would be an understatement! Yet despite the crowds and excitement, he made time for everyone. If a resident wanted to meet him, have a photograph or ask a question, nothing was too much trouble.

As I knocked on doors and spoke with local residents, time and again people told me how impressed they were with the work Nigel has done over the last two years, particularly for Jaywick and the wider Clacton constituency. The feedback about the difference he has made as an MP was overwhelmingly positive.

The mood throughout the evening was incredibly upbeat, optimistic and energised. Whatever your politics, there is something very special about seeing people so engaged and passionate about the future of their country and their community.

Thank you, Clacton, for such a memorable evening.
