@PiyushK13744905@Apna_Bollywood Why? If you read an English novel set in India by an Indian writer, do the characters even illiterate ones speak in any other language there?
@broomland4@SirJambavan Twitter so called BJP supporters only have myopic vision and care only about their parochial interest which is apparently not being served by ongoing reservations. Don't they know that other side will only enhance it and may make it religion based as well.
@AMP86793444 From my memory and based on those in popular imagination:
1. Saurav Ganguly (vividly remember reading the news in Dainik Jagran newspaper in June 1996)
2. KL Rahul (he scored just last year and once before as well)
3. Ajit Agarkar (this comes up here on twitter very often)
@SiddharthKG7 You don't see as there remain fewer bookshops. I remember buying a history book in 2013 where the cover art was famous painting 'Liberty leading the people'.
@Children0fEarth@jasveer10 If you don't close the gap between cars, some biker will come in between or the car behind you will keep honking to move ahead and close the gap. Silimarly in queue people behind you will pester you to move ahead to stand within an inch of the person in front of you.
@AaryanPrateekX I had a minor fracture a few days ago and the ortho doctor I visited made 50,000/- Rs. in front on my eyes in just one hour from 4 patients. Why do you say it's not worth it?
@kartik_kannan These kind of dashing jerseys were more often part of triangular series that was held every year in Australia. There jerseys used to have these player numbers which wqs kind of unique as other bilaterals and tournamenta didn't have numbers on jerseys.
@DrShauryaGarg Chup raho bhai tumse to sarkar tax bhi nahi poochhti kyunki sarkar ko pata hai ki tax ke maamle mein agar tight huye to healthcare mahanga ho jaayega.
When a man starts making these decisions by himself, the same women will say that they have no role to play. Men buy peace of mind by having their wives taking decisions in these household related things. May be it's double burden but that women have brought it upon themselves. It's srupid to say why burden of giving birth falls upon women? You won't get everything, there has to be a tradeoff.
Every time I post on the disproportionate burden of household work (mental and physical) on women, people pipe up saying this has completely changed now.
Let me share the results of a natural experiment that came about.
I am member of all IIM all batches alumni WhatsApp groups in the UAE.
The common male plus female group has over a thousand members. The women only group has a few hundred members.
So reasonably large sample size.
And most are not of my vintage. My guess is that the average age will be in the 30s, although of course it spans the whole gamut from the twenties to seventies.
Now here is the thing. Men post about business networking, jobs for themselves or their family and friends, visas, geopolitics, sports, investments, politics etc
On the woman's Group in addition to these topics, there are questions on nannies, daycare, schools/ playschools, cooks/ domestic staff (available or looking), caterers for parties, best place to source certain groceries, where to buy Festival items, how to manage children during holidays etc.
No man has EVER asked about any of this... Showing clearly who is doing all the household management and emotional labor
Remember that both the men and women are all IIM graduates.
I can see that the burden of managing the household and the children is still with the women no matter how highly qualified they are!
It is clear as daylight.
All this talk of, "Things have changed" appears to be mostly empty words.
And it is so internalized that I suspect most people in the groups don't even think about it.
Similar situation I had faced in 2003 when my JEE maths teacher Rohit Juneja (B Tech IT BHU & son of former HOD, Mathematics IIT Kanpur) was murdered.
@iamankitpande Even Vivekananda has said that Hindus would go to length to keep their lineages strong. So people used to look for lineage and background very thoroughly in past when means of communication and transportation were developed little. Now it all is overlooked.
@Susmit_999 Good that Laxman Rekha version got popular otherwise this version only shows Sita as a weak woman and she being a poor judge of character (even if her actions towards Laxman were deliberate using such harsh words may have grave repercussions).
