@freverett @GeorgeStoia I’m in your camp: the ONLY way to fix the basketball programs is to get students excited about it, and the only way to do that is to keep the games on campus near campus corner, which McCasland is. Building a new arena 5 miles away near Embassy Suites won’t solve anything!

And: STUDENTS create atmosphere, not rich donors. That’s why it’s vital to have an on-campus arena. Moving further away from dorm is the wrong move!

@GeorgeStoia @SoonerScoop The arena would have to be built to perfection to offset the fact that it’s off-campus. And here’s what tells me it won’t be built to perfection: “multi-use facility”. Sounds great for city of Norman, but sounds like only a modest improvement to the Sooner hoops fan experience👎
