@eigenrobot Qu for guys: As a woman it puts me right off if I learn a man I like/respect has a sick (IMO) sexual perversion. But I'm guessing men just see it as funny (not a 'my opinion of u has changed') if they discover another man gets off on eg. animal porn? Correct assumption? Incorrect?
@tsarnick The more this breathless hyperbole piles on, the more convinced I am that everyone making these grand statements, pronouncements, predictions abt the future, AI, man's trajectory etc. are going to get so put in their place by history. 2150 will look back and smile. Indulgently.
@ggreenwald A question that is low-key bothering me (I can guess an answer but have no good idea if its correct): WHY are so many vegans rabid antisemites?
@etanadeeIL@DouglasKMurray@dailywireplus@benshapiro Forget it. These conceptual leaps will be far too difficult for the majority to follow. The hundreds of millions of useful idiots in the West-who think Islam is friend and Jews foe -will determine our destiny. The stupid have inherited the West and the stupid will relinquish it.
How did the world come to be SO beautiful for visual creatures?
For creatures that hear, are the sounds of the world that they hear beautiful to them? Creatures that smell, the scents
of the world beautiful to them?
What do these AI algorithms find beautiful abt their world?
After working with LLMs for 2 years, Iโve noticed that humans have very different short-term context windows too.
Humans with small-to-mid sized context windows develop deep โbreakdownโ strategies early in life to deal with virtually everything. Ways of breaking down complex problems into smaller steps that can be chained. Their brains contain an enormous recipe book of these multistep breakdown strategies.
Humans with very large context windows operate off raw intuition for a lot of life. They did not develop many of these multi-step prompting strategies as a child, and the idea of โprocessifyingโ work or breaking it down into smaller steps is *extremely* puzzlingโfeeling like it will only slow them down and confuse things.
Both types of people have their strengths and weaknesses, neither is โbetterโ.
But man, we do not understand eachother, and how different our ways of interacting with the world are.
Male-dominated Twitter (what is it? ~2 men on here for every woman?) is delivering great entertainment recently.
I'm seeing lots of threads where men are (accurately) explaining women.
Men, I love you for your humour. Am so grateful for your ability to make us women laugh! :-)
The West can never say we are the better civilisation, the more evolved culture; the postmodernists who shout 'All cultures are equal!' will alway have their claws to the podium..whilst we TORTURE these sweet, intelligent ++ (yes, all u 'Ohhhhhh help the poor AGI!' fools) animals
Posted @withregram โข @aforjustice Pigs are sensitive, social animals that are forced to spend their lives in extremely crowded, filthy warehouses, where theyโre deprived of enrichment (even natural sunlight) until the day theyโre crammed onto a truck bound for the slaughterhouse
@RobertoCardel18@withregram @AforJustice This is a f..ing crime against humanity (yeah, 95% won't possibly be able to understand this. Tooooooo difficult to grasp concepts more complicated than: Me log on pornhub. Able watch apes have sex with dogs and other apes. Me feel goooood.); it's a crime against life itself.
@itsMattMac To be fair, he's probably got highly esoteric definitions of 'sentient' 'conscious' and so on. That simple people like me don't make. So don't quote me on the man's chicken animus. :-p
@itsMattMac "I'd say I "don't understand" why the people who worry that chickens are sentient and suffering don't also worry that GPT-3 is sentient and maybe suffering; but in fact I do understand, it's just not a charitable understanding. Anyway, they're both unsentient so no worries."
