I’m a Brit who has integrated into the culture I live in (manners, language, day-to-day life in JP 🇯🇵) but I still maintain my Britishness too - integrating should be done, but maintaining cultural roots is just as important. And as this man shares, many Brits only do the latter

It always cracks me up when white English people say the problem is Muslims don't integrate to our society because having lived in Portugal amongst English immigrants I can assure white English people don't integrate for anything or anyone.

If Japanese people told me to stop speaking English with friends or family or stop other cultural mannerisms (holding doors open, communication style) I’d be fuming, it doesn’t make me a bad immigrant as when it counts I do oblige by the “rules” here and speak the language ❤️
