@thisisandrewc Absolutely right! And too many people don’t realize that 0.01% of society will have an entertainment career. Even 5% of can’t have their only income be from entertainment. Society can’t work that way.
@matthewsaintcyr @mattyglesias People forget that “working class” was the most common. Everyone thought they were”middle class” in the 90’s becaus they matched their neighbors so they “felt” they were middle class. I Hate the classifications, but I think that’s what’s going on.
@garrett_wollman@zofer11@mattyglesias I agree everyone thought they were “middle class” in the 90’s. Hate the stratification/classification but by definition, “working class” was the most common and middle class people should consider in the 90’s as Cosby’s were middle class. Roseanne was working class.
@JacobAShell @MarissaEsque I think this feels about right. I think I’ve read that back then (and now) many “working class” considered themselves “middle class” than met the standard definition. I don’t love the stratification/classication but “middle class” isn’t/wasn’t as prevalent as people think.
@RichLeePhD@PurdueNorthwest@AcademicChatter This is absolutely disgusting. The initial response from the room should have been gasps of shock, not polite laughter. Hoping some corrective action is soon to follow
@chinyereosuji@innodim Rice is one of the top staple foods of The #1 and #2 life expectancies on earth (Hong Kong and Japan). I wonder if that doc is having the same talk with every Japanese patient that walks into her practice. 🤔
@TheDailyShow Thank you for your talent, you will be missed.
And thank you for these word. This is the kind of highlighting and admiration we so rarely hear. Thank you.
