Early in the year but still not had submissions for two big birds from last year - Pallid Harrier, Long Mynd 12-19 May, and Barred Warbler, Pole Mere 29 Oct. Can do a per County Recorder for the former but not easily for the Barred

Also both accepted Dark-bellied Brent and 2 Avocet Whixall Floods 15 May, Brent found the previous day, Avocets came to light via J Reeves but were already in the logbook. Sadly they didn't stay.
Afternoon trip to see the DB Brent and 2 Avocets (ahem, county first for me) at Whixall Floods. Also male Mandarin etc. Avocets later gone after someone was seen trespassing on the reserve. Argent & Sable on the moss in brief visit.
Main recent excitement was the Iberian Chiffchaff on The Wrekin on 9 May, sound recorded by John Reeves early morning (2nd for Shrops is accepted by BBRC). I say recent...
@hjgriffiths104 Not sure yet Helen. Nice pic though. Most of the ones in the Midlands today went straight through I think. Apart from VP where so far no one has seen one (tempting fate there)
